Notes
Classics department chair and Academic Dean, Nathan Costa delivered the 2011 Convocation address. Nathan covers the various definitions of memory within his talk. He starts off by explaining to the students the approach our faculty takes when teaching: "We take a more nuanced, sources- and questions-based approach, the stuff of real historical inquiry, where there isn’t right answer you can look up in a book of the latest year’s facts and figures." He goes on to talk about the accuracy of our memories and the dichotomy between remembering and learning.
